Prof. Ocon bags ASEAN Science and Technology Fellowship
Adding another feather to his cap, Dr. Joey Ocon is among the 17 chosen talented scientist from 9 different ASEAN countries as an ASEAN Science and Technology Fellow. This fellowship is given by the ASEAN Foundation, whose member includes Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

As a fellow, Dr. Ocon will work in updating and setting the direction for Renewable Energy and Energy Storage Solutions in the R&D roadmap of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD). This is consistent with the Sustainable Energy agenda, one of the three priorities of the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation 2016-2025.
