Prof. Yoshitada Morikawa visits LEE
Prof. Joey Ocon and several LEE members welcomed Prof. Yoshitada Morikawa from Osaka University last February 29. The short visit of Prof. Morikawa follows his lecture at the Computational Materials Design Workshop at De La Salle University Manila. Prof. Morikawa is the head of the Department of Precision Science and Technology and is an expert in quantum mechanical modeling of gas-solid interfaces for catalytic and energy applications.

Mr. Ace Christian Serraon, a LEE member whose MS thesis focused on alkaline earth metal-doped graphenes, is bound to Japan for his PhD under Prof. Morikawa with Mr. Meliton Chiong III from the UP National Institute of Physics (UP NIP). Both of them are Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholars. Mr. Sol Ixandr H Loja and Mr. Honesto Ovid Tubalinal, both currently taking their MS ChE degree under the supervision of Prof. Ocon, were also present in the meeting and discussed their MS theses with Prof. Morikawa.
